(LAGRANGE) – A piece of property in LaGrange County has been designated a nuisance.
During Tuesday’s meeting, the LaGrange County Commission held a nuisance hearing about property at 7180 North 1145 West, on the west side of Stone Lake in Shipshewana.
Code Enforcement Officer Eric Schoenherr (Shane-Hair) testified that he had received a complaint from a neighbor regarding the property. LINKC.

Schoenherr says he went out Tuesday prior to the Commission meeting and while the vehicle was gone, nothing has been done to the grass and vegetation.
Schoenherr asked the Commission to amend the nuisance fine to be for the grass and other growth at $100 per week, retroactive to July 31. He also asked that a fine of $100 per week continue to be put on the property and it’s owners until it is cleaned up.
The Commission voted 3-0 to approve the request.
