(STURGIS) – Rumors of a double homicide in Sturgis are just that, rumors.
Sturgis Deputy Public Safety Director Jeff Case says the department is aware of the rumors circulating online regarding an alleged double homicide said to have happened. Detectives were first made aware of this rumor in the Spring of 2024.
A joint investigation was conducted with the Michigan State Police at that time, and no evidence of a crime or missing persons was found.
On September 10, officers were again contacted regarding these rumors and again conducted an investigation. No evidence of foul play, and no reports of missing persons have been found to substantiate the rumors.
Case says as with all reported crimes, officers are diligently following up on any information received, and will continue to do so.
