(CENTREVILLE) – It’s an opportunity for the community to speak to and get information from several St. Joseph County agencies.
The 2024 and 19th Project Connect and Veteran Stand Down is happening Friday in the Henningsen Show Area on the St. Joseph County Fairgrounds in Centreville. It’s being presented by the St. Joseph County Housing Task Force.
Laura Brott, St. Joseph County Human Services Commission Collaborative Coordinator and Event Chair explains what Project Connect is. LINKC.
Brott says often people aren’t aware of resources that are available to them when they need them or how to access them. She says at Project Connect, community members learn about available services and can immediately be connected to providers and find out about services they may need as they age.
Health screenings this year will include stroke screens, blood glucose, blood pressure and osteoporosis screens.
The Veterans Stand Down provides services to veterans such as food, shelter, clothing, health screenings, VA and Social Security benefits, counseling and referrals to a variety of other necessary services such as housing, employment and substance abuse treatment.
Project Connect and the Veterans Stand Down will run from 10 AM until 1 PM.
