(ANGOLA) – A familiar face is back with the City of Angola.
Angola Mayor Dave Martin has announced that veteran firefighter and retired Assistant Fire Chief William Harter has accepted the position of Fire Chief for Angola.
Martin says Harter’s experience as a first responder and his many years of public service and his leadership positions in county government make him the ideal candidate to lead the Angola Fire Department into the future.
Martin says Harter has the skills and ability to continue building the team within the Angola fire Department. Harter will also continue to grow the Fire Academy, and his government experience gives him the qualifications to work with other agencies to ensure there is first rate fire protection within Angola and the surrounding townships.
Harter replaces Doug Call, who served as the Angola Fire Chief since June 26, 2022. Call left to accept a senior leadership position with the East Central Allen County Fire Territory.
Harter will assume his new position as Angola Fire Chief effective December 22.
