(MENDON) – For the second straight week, the Mendon football team got a last second touchdown to keep their post season alive. This time it came against the No. 5 ranked and two time defending 8 Man Division 1 champion Martin Clippers as the No. 7 Hornets beat the Clippers 26-22. JT Lux had 14 carries for 147 yards and 2 touchdowns, including the game winner with time running out. LINKC. Owen Gorham had 25 carries for 185 yards and a touchdown. Zach Iobe led the defense with 12 tackles. Nick Stiver had 10 tackles before leaving with an injury. Lux and Alex Zagon each had 6 tackles. Lux spoke to WBET after the game and described that last play. LINKD. Martin finishes the season 9-2. Mendon is now 10-1 and will travel to No. 4 Deckerville for a Division 1 State Semifinal game Saturday at 1 PM.
