
(LAGRANGE) – The LaGrange County Council received an update on the County’s pursuit of funds to help future development.
During Monday’s meeting, the County Council heard from Emille Buller, the LaGrange County Economic Development Corporation’s Vice President of Community Development and Engagement on the Stellar Pathways Designation.
LaGrange County is one of the four finalists for possible designation. Buller says that they submitted all of the necessary paperwork to the Indiana Office of Community And Rural Affairs prior to the deadline. On December 3, Buller says she and members of the Steering Committee made a presentation on why LaGrange County should be a recipient of the funds. LINKC.
Buller also shared with the Council the amount of matching funds they were able to amass in the County from different communities. LINKD.
In addition, the LaGrange County Community Foundation has pledged $120,00 in matching funds; while Crossroads United Way pledged $200,000.
Buller says E&S Sales, Farmers State Bank, Linder’s Tavern On Main and Parkview LaGrange Hospital have pledged $30,000 in matching funds if the County receives the designation.
Buller says they will find out in January if LaGrange County will be a Stellar Pathways County.
