(BURR OAK TOWNSHIP) – A one vehicle crash over the weekend took the life of a Sturgis man.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatch to a traffic crash on M-66 near Blackberry Lane in Burr Oak Township at 11:42 PM Friday, thanks to an iPhone crash detection report.
When they arrived, deputies found a vehicle that struck a tree. The lone occupant, a 34 year old Sturgis man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation. Assisting at the scene were the Burr Oak Fire Department and Life Care Ambulance.
