(MILTON TOWNSHIP) – A man is dead following a one vehicle crash.

Cass County Sheriff Clint Roach says his department was sent out Friday just after 8 PM for a single vehicle crash in the area of Bell Street and Ironwood Drive in Milton Township.

Deputies say 60 year old Michael Jasper of Niles was driving west on Bell Street when he left the roadway and struck a tree. He was taken by SMCAS Ambulance to Niles Lakeland Hospital to be treated for his injuries. Jasper was later transported to South Bend Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Jasper was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The Niles Charter Township Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
