
(CENTREVILLE) - Glen Oaks Community College is seeking nominations for four annual awards.
The are the Distinguished Alumni Award, the Fellows Award, the Part-Time Teaching Award, and the E.J. Shaheen Chair for Teaching Excellence Award. They are given in the Spring and recipients will be honored during the Glen Oaks Community College Awards Ceremony on April 9, 2025. A reception will begin at 5:30 PM followed by the program at 6 PM.
The Distinguished Alumni Award is awarded by the Glen Oaks Foundation to a Glen Oaks alum who has demonstrated achievement in his or her career field, service to the community or outstanding contribution to the college.
The Fellows Award is given to an individual or institution who has provided outstanding support of the college as evidenced by long-term dedication and commitment to the college, extensive community-level support for the college, and/or direct and continuing support of the college and students. Former and retired employees may also be considered for this award.
The E. J. Shaheen Teaching Chair for Excellence Award is awarded by the Glen Oaks Foundation to an outstanding faculty member. The nominee should exemplify high professional standards and excellence in teaching and whose position as a faculty member reflects upon the value of education to his or her students and the quality of education. The appointment includes a monetary award.
The Part-Time Faculty Teaching Excellence Award is presented to a part-time faculty member or adjunct who demonstrates teaching excellence and reflects the value of education to students.

Completed nominations must be submitted to the President’s Office at Glen Oaks Community College no later than 3 PM on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
