(LAGRANGE) – A salary ordinance amendment has been approved for a LaGrange County department.
On Monday, LaGrange County Prosecutor Travis Glick shared with the County Council that the Deputy Prosecutor left for another job, and it was challenging to find a new attorney. They increased the salary and received several applicants.
Glick explains what his department would like to do to pay the new attorney. LINKC.
The new attorney started with the County in January.
Councilman Harold Gingerich says he has some concerns about the proposal coming at this time. LINKD.
Glick apologized, saying he didn’t know they needed to have a salary amendment to do what they have been doing by taking the money out of the Incentive Fund. He says as soon as he found out, he came to the County Council.
After several minutes of discussion, the Council unanimously approved the amendment.
