(THREE RIVERS) – The Sturgis girls track team started the 2025 season with a 121-12 win over host Three Rivers. The Lady Trojans won all 17 events on the day, including sweeping all three scoring places in the 100 meters, the 200 meters, the 400 meters, the 1600 meters along with the 100 meter hurdles, the 300 meter hurdles and the pole vault. Sturgis coach Lesley Starkey says her team seized the opportunity on a cold March day to show they are ready for competition. Several Sturgis athletes secured two individual wins, including Eleena Kelley in the shot put and discus; Kylie Brooks in the 100 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles and Tessa Hatt in the 800 meters and the 1600 meters. For Three Rivers, Lillian Blakley was second in the shot put, Emma Martin was second in the discus and Braylee Burg was second in the high jump.
