(LAGRANGE) – Authorities have identified the man who was found dead over the weekend at the LaGrange County Jail.
LaGrange County Chief Deputy Sheriff Juan Arroyo says the individual is 37 year old William Howard Ellis of Sherwood, Michigan. His family has been notified.
At 2:28 PM on Saturday, Ellis was found unresponsive in a cell at the jail. Life saving measures were taken, but were ultimately unsuccessful.
Assisting deputies were the LaGrange Volunteer Fire Department; the LaGrange Police Department; the Indiana Department Of Natural Resources and Parkview EMS.
The investigation into Ellis’ death is being investigated by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office.
