(BRONSON) – The City of Bronson will be flushing their fire hydrants and
exercising water valves soon.
Bronson City Manager Brandon Mersman says this is being done in keeping with the practice of regular routine water main cleaning.
The flushing will begin at 12:01 AM on Monday April 28 for the Eastern portion of the City. Then at 12:01 AM on Tuesday April 29, the flushing will take place on the Western portion of the City. If additional time is needed, flushing will continue April 30 at 12:01 AM.
Mersman says the City apologizes for any inconvenience the flushing may create. On occasion, the water in the areas of flushing may temporarily have a reddish/orange rusty appearance as flushing can disturb iron sediment in the water pipes and cause discoloration.
If this occurs, please run your cold water at the tap closest to your water meter to clear your lines.
The City advises the public to refrain from doing laundry during the days the flushing will be taking place.
