(ALBION) – A former Noble County Middle School teacher entered into a plea agreement regarding charges of child pornography and exploitation.
Noble County Court officials say 57 year old Greg Riegsecker of Ligonier was charged in August 2024 with three counts of child pornography. At the time, Indiana State Police said their investigation did not lead them to believe that any local children were involved in the alleged crimes.
Following further investigation, two additional counts of child exploitation and one count of dissemination of matter harmful to minors were filed against him in a separate case. An Indiana State Police Detective allegedly located over 2,600 files of child sexual abuse material between Riegsecker’s four phones.
Police were able to locate and speak to a minor whom Riegsecker allegedly communicated inappropriately with. The girls told police when she was 14 or 15 years old she started talking with someone named “Matt” on Instagram. The girls said this person claimed to be 17 years old and exchanged nude photos with her, which is how police located her.
Riegsecker’s plea agreement calls for him to plead guilty to the first charges in each case, with are Level 5 felonies. If the agreement is accepted, the other four charges will be dismissed.
Riegsecker is set to be sentenced on July 29.
