(STURGIS) – An alert Michigan State Police trooper led to the arrest of a man for allegedly damaging an MSP Cruiser and a business.
A Michigan State Police trooper from the Marshall Post was on patrol and driving through the Jim Stykemain Chevrolet GMC lot in Sturgis at 6:40 PM Wednesday and noticed some suspicious activity. The trooper found an MSP patrol vehicle with a damaged windshield, side mirror and rear license plate. The vehicle was at the dealership receiving maintenance service.
The trooper heard a noise, and observed a 54 year old Constantine man breaking the dealership’s window and throwing a grill.
The Sturgis Department Of Public Safety arrested the intoxicated man without incident. He is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail on multiple charges including malicious destruction of police property.
