(UNDATED) – Former St. Joseph County Prosecutor John McDonough has been suspended from practicing law for another two years.
During a pre-hearing conference held Tuesday by the Ingham County Hearing Panel of the Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission, Chairman Robert McCarthy shares the charges brought against McDonough. LINKC.
Following a discussion in a closed session, McCarthy announced that the Panel has unanimously determined that McDonough will be suspended for two years from practicing law, effective January 11, 2027. This will run consecutively with the current suspension that McDonough is serving.
McDonough’s current suspension was handed down January 11, 2025. At that time, a Hearing Panel found that McDonough committed several serious violations, including: Neglecting a legal matter; Lack of communication; Noncompliance with the disciplinary process and violation of a prior disciplinary order.
