(COLON) – The Colon football team has a new head coach for the 2024 season. School officials say Derrick Sanders has been hired as the Head Football Coach and the new Intervention Teacher for Colon Jr/Sr High School. He holds a Bachelor's in Recreation: Sports Management from Western Michigan University and has a proven track record of community engagement and commitment to K-12 education and athletics. Sanders replaces Kevin Bennett, who coached the Magi in 2023. The team finished with a 4-5 record.
