Upcycled Clothing Workshop / 6 p.m.

The Library is excited to welcome retired fashion designer Maria Matson for a hands-on workshop that celebrates creativity, sustainability, and the joy of giving old clothing new life! Maria brings 25 years of industry experience, including a vibrant chapter in the 1990s when DIY fashion was at its peak. During that era, she transformed cast-ff garments into one-of-a-kind wearable art - handbags, hats, dresses, skirts, and more. During the workshop, participants will learn how to create a DIY no-sew reusable bag from a t-shirt, and accessible, beginner-friendly project that's as practical as it is fun. Maria will also share simple techniques for refreshing and repurposing other clothing items, offering ideas you can take home and try with pieces already in your closet. Please bring a t-shirt and a pair of sharp scissors us use during the workshop. This is a FREE program offered by the Library. To reserve your spot, call 269-435-7957, send a DM, or stop by the front desk to sign up.

Tuesday, February 24th

Encore Presentation - From Storefronts to Stories: The History of Water Street / 1 p.m.

If you missed it the first time - or simply want to experience it again - you're in luck. The Library is delighted to welcome back retired teacher and local historian Cindy Petre presenting once again this popular program. Though a rich blend of photographs, vintage advertisements, and her signature storytelling, Cindy brings Constantine's downtown to life. She traces the buildings and businesses that once lined Water Street, revealing the people, industries, and everyday moments that shaped the heart of our community. Presented alongside her 2nd book, this encore session offers another chance to rediscover Constantine's past and celebrate the legacy preserved in its storefronts and stories. Whether you're a lifelong resident or newly curious about local history, Cindy's program is a warm invitation to see our town with fresh eyes.
