Awards Given Out During Chamber Annual Dinner

(STURGIS) - It was an evening to recognize businesses and the good things happening in Sturgis.

The Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce held their Annual Dinner Thursday at the Sturges-Young Center For The Arts. Following the meal and some laughs from Master Of Ceremonies Tom Duke of WBET, Chamber Director Kari Hatt started the awards portion of the evening by introducing the nominees for the Phoenix Award.

The award is given out to a business for has done major renovations and updates to their facility or to a new business that stands out. This year's nominees are Eclipse Auto Pros in Sturgis; the Sturgis Downtown Development Authority for the downtown City lights; and for Farrand Hall in Colon.

The winner was Eclipse Auto Pros. Owner Ricky Gomez thanked everyone for the award, and shared some of the journey to get their location on South Centreville Road. (LISTEN ABOVE).

Other awards were also handed out by the Chamber. The winner of the Outstanding Customer Service Award was 512 Lube Center. Winning the Community Service Award was The Three Amigos; Zach Perry, Kanin Neal and Steven Orrostieta. The Ambassador Of The Year Award was given to Kenny Bowen.

The Chamber Participation Award was given to Abbott.
