(CENTREVILLE) - A familiar name has been hired to be the new Boys Varsity basketball coach at Centreville. School officials say Dylan Jergens will take over leading the Bulldogs program. Jergens, who graduated from Howardsville Christian, is the third all time leading scorer in MHSAA history with 2,782 points. From 2024 to 2026, Jergens served as the Varsity boys basketball for Athens High School, where his teams went 12-34. He has also been a physical education and health teacher at Centreville High School since August 2025. Jergens takes over for Matt Price who announced he was stepping down as coach after the 2025-2026 season. Price was hired in 2019 as the Bulldogs coach and his teams went 110-40 over his tenure.
