(CENTREVILLE) - The St. Joseph County Courthouse will be closing early to the public this Friday.
County officials say the Courthouse will close at 3:30 PM and will resume normal business hours at 8 AM on Monday, June 22.
The temporary closure is necessary to accommodate work associated with the ongoing Courts Building renovation. As part of the project, a scheduled electrical switch-over will require a power outage within the building. To ensure the safety of staff and the public, operations for that facility will conclude at 3:30 PM Friday.
The early closure will affect offices located in the Courthouse, including District Court, the Prosecutor's Office, Information Technology, Veterans Affairs, the County Clerk/Register of Deeds and the Treasurer's Office.
St. Joseph County appreciates the public's patience and understanding.
