(COLDWATER) - One person is dead following a weekend garage fire.
Coldwater Fire Marshall Steve Trall says the Coldwater Fire Department was called out to a garage fire at 64 Grand Street at 7:18 PM Saturday. Crews arrived on scene and reported heavy fire and smoke that was coming from an interior room in the garage.
The Bronson and Quincy Fire Departments provided mutual aid and in approximately 20 minutes the fire was brought under control.
The name of the person who died in the fire has not been released. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
Trall says the blaze caused $25,000 in property loss and $50,000 in structural damage.
Also assisting at the scene were the Coldwater Police Department and the Michigan State Police.
