(UNDATED) - Branch County voters will decide some contested races on their August 4 Primary Ballot
There are two candidates vying for the Republican nomination to run for Branch County Prosecutor. Former Prosecutor Terri Norris is running against John Vincent. Norris currently serves as Branch County Public Defender and Vincent is her Assistant Public Defender.
In the race for the 35th District State Representative, Republican incumbent Jennifer Wortz is running unopposed for her party's nomination, while Jeff Cooley is running without opposition for the Democratic nomination.
Incumbent Jonathan Lindsey is running unopposed for the Republican nomination for the 17th District State Senator seat.
Vying for the Democratic nomination to run against Lindsay are three candidates: Ashleigh Baker, Mike D. Jones and Brett Muchow.
In the race for the Republican nomination for Governor, Perry Johnson is running against John James. Mike Cox and Aric Nesbitt, who have both dropped out of the Republican race, will still have their names on the ballot.
The candidates seeking the Democratic nomination for Governor are Jocelyn Benson and Christopher Robert Swanson.
There are three candidates seeking the Democratic nomination to run for the open U.S. Senate seat. They are Haley Stevens and Abdul El-Sayed. Mallory McMorrow, who suspended her campaign, will also appear on the ballot.
The winner will face Mike Rogers in the November General Election. Rogers is running unopposed for the Republican nomination.
Also running unopposed is Republican incumbent Tim Walberg for his party's nomination to seek another term to represent the 5th U.S. House seat. Challenging him will be Democratic candidate Christian Vukasovich, who is also running unopposed for his party's nomination.
