(MASON TOWNSHIP) - A two vehicle crash claimed the life of one of the drivers.
Cass County Sheriff Clint Roach says at 1:30 PM Monday his deputies were called to a two car accident at the intersection of Mason Street and Calvin Center Road in Mason Township.
The investigation determined that 77-year-old Elsie Levan was driving an SUV south on Mason Street and failed to yield the right of way after stopping at the intersection of Calvin Center Road. Her vehicle was struck on the driver's side by a vehicle driven by 38-year-old Andrew Habich.
Levan was pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries.
Assisting deputies at the scene were the Michigan State Police and the SEPSA Ambulance Service. The crash remains under investigation.
