(CONSTANTINE) - Some Constantine High School alums have come up with a way to help future Falcon students.

The Falcon Fund is the brainchild of Casey Smagala who graduated from Constantine High School in 2008. Smagala reached out to classmates Andrew Morse, Andria (Baker) Ettinger, Dustin Jennings and Ryan Wolf, and started the Falcon Fund. While all five live elsewhere, they say they have a great sense of pride and community of their hometown and want to see it thrive.

Smagala says while he was in high school, he was invited to go to a Youth In Government program, but couldn't afford the cost to attend. A friend's parents covered the cost and was able to go. Smagala says creating the Falcon Fund is a way of paying it forward for current kids in Constantine.

A launch party and fundraiser is being held Saturday at River Trade Brewery from 6 PM until 9 PM. The St. Joseph County United Way will hold the Falcon Fund, and Kelly Hostetler will be at the launch party to accept donations.
