(THREE RIVERS) – A Three Rivers man is facing multiple charges.
The Three Rivers Police Department asked for assistance from the Michigan State Police Fifth District Fugitive Team to locate and arrest a man who was hiding from authorities and has a violent criminal record along with a history of resisting arrest.
On March 12, the MSP Fugitive Team located the individual entering a residence in Three Rivers. A search warrant for the suspect was obtained and executed with help from the Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team and the MSP K-9 unit from the Niles Post. The man ran from the house, but was immediately captured and arrested.
During the arrest, suspected drugs were found in plain view. Three Rivers Police obtained a residential search warrant for narcotics, which they served with assistance from the Southwest Enforcement Team. A stolen pistol, approximately one ounce of cocaine, 11 grams of crack cocaine, additional ammunition and other evidence of drug trafficking were located.
The suspect, a 44 year old Three Rivers man, is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail on multiple warrants. SWET plans to seek the following charges against the man: possession with intent to deliver cocaine; possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine; felon in possession of a firearm and ammo; firearm used in the commission of a felony; possession of a stolen firearm; and maintaining a drug house.
The matter remains under investigation.
