(LAGRANGE) – The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Office is seeking funding for some new equipment.
LaGrange County Sheriff Tracy Harker made a request to the LaGrange County Council Monday about some new body and vehicle cameras he would like to get for his department. Harker says one of the important factors about the body cams is that they would be better secured to the officers than the current ones. LINKC.
Harker shares that another feature of the equipment he would like to purchase will save his staff time in terms of getting needed video to him and other agencies. LINKD.
Harker says the cost of the new equipment is significant, which is why he was coming to the County Council to seek the needed funding.
The Council agreed that the equipment is needed. They also agreed to advertise for the withdraw of money from some different funds. They will decide during their June meeting from which funds the money will come from, and how much from each fund.
