(PARK TOWNSHIP) – A two vehicle accident took the life of a Three Rivers man.
St. Joseph County Sheriff Chad Spence says deputies were called to the area of U.S. 131 near Flowerfield Road at 8:30 PM Wednesday for a reported injury crash.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a motorcycle, operated by a 35 year old Three Rivers man was traveling south on U.S. 131 and lost control of his bike, colliding with the rear of another southbound vehicle.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured. Speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the crash.
Spence says the motorcyclist’s name has not been released as the crash is still under investigation.
