(STURGIS TOWNSHIP) – A wide turn was the cause of a two vehicle accident Friday afternoon south of Sturgis.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at the intersection of South Nottawa Road and Bogen Road. The preliminary investigation determined a driver made too wide a turn and struck another vehicle.

One of the autos had damage to the front driver’s side. The other ended up off the road, landing on the driver’s side.

A response to a post on the WBET Facebook page by Kathy Roberts says her husband was one of the individuals involved in the crash and suffered some broken ribs.

The matter is still under investigation.
