(WASHINGTON, DC) – A bill co-authored by Republican U.S. Congressman Tim Walberg has been passed unanimously by the House Of Representatives.
House Resolution 433, or the Enhancing Detection Of Human Trafficking Act, was introduced by Walberg along with Democrat Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan and Republican Ann Wager, ensures the Department of Labor effectively trains its employees to recognize and respond to the illegal trade of people for exploitation or commercial gain.
Walberg says he hopes this bill will combat the failures of many different government agencies along with other factors. LINKC.
Walberg says the strong bipartisan passage of the bill shows a willingness to better combat human trafficking. He says this is another piece to help protect vulnerable populations along with victims and survivors of trafficking, and to provide continued education of federal agencies to identify and stop human trafficking.
