
(ALGANSEE TOWNSHIP) – A crash between a vehicle and an Amish wagon injured five people in Algansee Township.
According to the Branch County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to South Ray Quincy Road near Campbell Road at 2:17 PM Friday. They determined that a southbound Amish wagon was struck from behind by an SUV, driven by 63 year old Jeannete Munson of Reading.
Two adult Amish men and two Amish juveniles were in the wagon at the time of the accident. All four are from Montgomery, Michigan.
Two of the buggy’s occupants were taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. One of the juveniles was flown to an Ann Arbor Hospital.
Assisting deputies were the Quincy Fire Department, Branch County Victims Services and Life Care Ambulance, along with the University of Michigan Survival Flight.
The crash is still under investigation.
