(ANGOLA) – No injuries were reported in a mobile home fire.
Angola Fire Chief Bill Harter says the Angola Fire Department was called out to a mobile home fire at 12:39 PM Friday at 2500 North 200 West Log No. 5. When they arrived, heavy smoke was seen throughout the entire trailer. The Ashley, Fremont and Steuben Township fire Departments were called in to help battle the blaze.
The fire was eventually brought under control just after 2 PM, and fire crews remained on scene for another 90 minutes to do overhaul.
Damage estimates are between $16,000 and $18,000. The fire is being listed as accidental in nature.
The owner of the trailer, Lena Collins, was able to get out of the mobile home along with her two dogs and a bird, before firefighters arrived.
Assisting at the scene were the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Steuben County EMS, the Angola Police Department, Angola Water Utility and NIPSCO.
