(STURGIS) – It wasn’t the start to the 2024 football season Sturgis was hoping for as the Trojans fell at home to the Coldwater Cardinals 35-8 in their 99tha meeting all time. The Cardinals outgained Sturgis 461 to 94 on the night, and held the Trojans scoreless until there was three seconds on the board, when Beckett Lamb connected with Dawson Miller for a touchdown. LINKC. Miller led the defense with 7 tackles and Parker Altimus had 6 tackles. Coldwater’s Dracyn Foster was 6 of 24 for 219 yards and 3 TD’s. Sturgis will travel to Kalamazoo Central next Friday, while Coldwater will host Plainwell.
