(BATTLE CREEK) – The Sturgis baseball team picked up their first win of the 2025 season by beating Maple Valley in the first game of a non conference double header 3-0. Game two was called due to darkness with the score tied 4-4. The games were played at Morrison Field at the Bailey Park Complex in Battle Creek. Coach Drew Rutenbar says it was good to see the team’s hard work pay off in their first win. Justin Lambright got the pitching win in game one. Carter Oswald had 3 hits while Camden Duffy and Joey Carpenter each had 2 hits. In game two, the Trojans were down 4-1 and fought back to tie the game. Oswald had a 3 run triple. Sturgis is now 1-10-1 on the season.
