(COLDWATER) – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities says a new scam is making the rounds.
CBPU officials say they have received reports of scammers calling their customers and claiming to be from the provider. The caller tells their intended victims that they were charged the wrong amount on their account and they ask the intended victim for personal information.
CBPU says if you ever receive a telephone call and it doesn’t sound right to you, please hang up and call the customer service team at 517-279-9531 to make sure you are speaking to an official CBPU employee.
