(UNDATED) – The storms that moved through the area Wednesday evening produced two tornadoes.
The National Weather Service says the first tornado touched ground near Orland, Indiana at 8:46 PM. Authorities say it’s maximum path was 600 yards wide and destroyed a small barn, uprooted trees and damaged the roof of an apartment building.
At the Indiana-Michigan border, the tornado reached its maximum width and did more damage, taking down several trees.
NWS authorities say the tornado then entered Branch County, hitting a farm on East Pearl Road, destroying part of a barn and tearing roofs off silos. Wind speeds reached 105 MPH.
The twister traveled almost 11 miles and went back up into the clouds near East Pearl and south Angola Road in Ovid Township.
That same storm also created another tornado southwest of Coldwater. It touched down between West Southern and Booth Roads. It went northeast and then north. Several Amish properties were damaged by the tornado.
That tornado had wind speeds of up to 100 MPH and went 3.9 miles, with a width of 125 yards.
