(COLDWATER) – Authorities say an online message that was posted regarding Coldwater High School is not credible.
Coldwater Schools Superintendent Paul Flynn along with Coldwater High School Principal Dr. Steven Hope posted on the School District’s website regarding an incident on social media.
On April 4, some Coldwater High School students contacted school administrators and the Coldwater High School Resource officer regarding a post on Snap Chat. The post showed an image of a weapon and a Cheetos bag with the message “Guys come to school tomorrow I have Cheetos”.
The Coldwater Police Department, working with school administrators, were able to identify the student in the posting. Assisting in the investigation were the Bronson Police Department along with the Branch County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation found there was no credible threat to any students, staff or others at Coldwater High School.
Flynn and Hope say in their message that the safety of Coldwater schools and the community depends on all of us. They say they appreciate the students who brought this matter to their attention so that is could be investigated.
