(MILTON TOWNSHIP) – A Northern Indiana woman was injured in a motorcycle accident in Southern Michigan.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to an incident at 11:40 PM on Thursday at the roundabout on Gumwood and Redfield Roads in Milton Township. 58 year old Angela Buchanan of Elkhart was heading north on Gumwood Road when a deer ran into the road. Buchanan tried to avoid the deer, but lost control of her motorcycle and hit the curb.

Buchanan’s injuries were non life-threatening. She was not wearing a helmet, and was taken by SMCAS Ambulance Service to South Ben Memorial Hospital.

The Edwardsburg Police Department assisted at the scene.
