(CENTREVILLE) – A new president has been hired for Glen Oaks Community College.
The Glen Oaks Board of Trustees issued a media release, announcing that Dr. Bryan Newton will be the new President for the school. He brings over two decades of dedicated service in community college administration, with a rich background in enrollment management, student services, and leadership roles.
Most recently, Dr. Newton served as the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Services at Wor-Wic Community College in Maryland. His prior roles include Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Experience at Aiken Technical College in South Carolina and Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs at Ivy Tech Community College in Bloomington, Indiana.
Glen Oaks Board of Trustees Chairman Bruce Gosling says the caliber of candidates was outstanding, and the search process went exceedingly well. Gosling says they are delighted that Dr. Newton has accepted our offer, and we are ready to get to work.
During the interview process, Newton along with the other candidates held three public forums. One of the questions asked to him was why should he be the next Glen Oaks President. LINKC.
In the release, Newton says he is honored and humbled to be chosen as the next president of Glen Oaks Community College. He plans to build on the excellent work of Dr. Devier and work together with Glen Oaks Community College employees and students to continue the tradition of excellence they have established.
Newton has entered into a three-year agreement and will be on campus starting July 22, 2024.
