(MASON TOWNSHIP) – A person is dead after falling into a lake and drowning.
Cass County Sheriff Richard Behnke says at 9:53 PM Sunday his office was called out to Juno Lake for a man that fell out of a kayak and into the water.
The investigation determined that a man was fishing in a kayak when he fell out and was unable to swim. The Cass County Marine Division Dive Team and the Indian Lake Dive Team came to the lake and located the man, who was pronounced dead.
The man was not wearing a life jacket, and alcohol may have been a factor in this incident, which is still under investigation.
