(STURGIS) – Sturgis Public Schools’ cell phone policy seems to be making a positive change.
Monday night, Sturgis Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert shared with the Board of Education the results of a survey that was given to staff at the Middle School and High School asking for their input regarding the cell phone policy that went into effect at the beginning of the school year.
Ebert says over half of the staff completed the survey.
Ebert shares the results of the first question asked. LINKC.
The other questions asked the level of socialization, or kids talking to each other compared to other years; the level of attentiveness of students in class; how do you feel staff is enforcing the new cell phone policy; and how well do you feel students are following the new cell phone policy.
All of the responses to the questions were positive in saying that students were socializing more and being more attentive in class and there are overall less problems.
Ebert says he received an e-mail regarding the Homecoming assembly. LINKD.
Ebert says his hope is that the District is on to something, and it can mean big things for Sturgis Schools moving forward.
