(DEKALB COUNTY) – A man was taken to the hospital following a motorcycle accident over the weekend.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, 19 year old Connor Mutzfeld of Butler was driving south on State Road 1 at 11:54 AM Saturday and was approaching the intersection of County Road 65A at a speed of 60 MPH. Mutzfeld says as he went over a hill he didn’t realize there was a sharp turn after hill.
Mutzfeld says he used both sets of brakes to stop the motorcycle, but was unable to get it to a safe speed in time to make the turn, continuing south and going off the road. Mutzfeld was thrown off the motorcycle.
Mutzfeld reported pain and had minor to moderate lacerations all over his body. He was taken to Parkview DeKalb Hospital to be treated.
Damage estimates to the motorcycle stand at $8,000.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Butler and Hamilton Police Department and the Hamilton Fire Department.
