(QUINCY) – The Village of Quincy didn’t have to look far to find their new Village Manager.
On Tuesday, the Quincy Village Council hired Ryan Smead to be Village Manager. Brittany Butler resigned as Village Manager in March, and Smead, who was a member of the Quincy Village Council, became the interim Village Manager at that time.
The Village Council received applications from seven candidates, including Smead, who were interested in becoming Village Manager. With the help of the Michigan Municipal League, the Council interviewed all seven individuals and voted to have Smead become Village Manager. He then stepped down from his Council seat.
Smead graduated from Quincy High School in 2005. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Northwestern Ohio University. Smead also has experience in property management and maintenance.
Smead and the Village Council agreed to a one year contract at a salary of $72,000.
