(CENTREVILLE) – A Three Rivers woman arrested on multiple charges of criminal sexual conduct has waived her preliminary hearing.
St. Joseph County District Court officials and St. Joseph County Prosecutor Debra Davis say that 28 year old Kaitlyn Sand will now have her case bound over to Circuit Court and have a status conference.
Sand was arrested in September following an investigation by the Mendon Police Department.
It’s alleged that Sand sexually assaulted two minor victims between February and April 2023. Investigators say Sand met the victims through her work as a contract employee in food service at Mendon Jr/Sr. High School and also used several social media platforms to contact the victims repeatedly.
The incidents allegedly happened in Mendon and Three Rivers.
Sand is charged with two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct;
two counts of third degree criminal sexual conduct; one count of second degree criminal sexual conduct; one count of tampering with evidence in a criminal case, which are all felonies. She is also charged with a misdemeanor count of fourth degree criminal sexual conduct.
No date has been set for her status conference.
