(CASSOPOLIS) – Cassopolis has announced that they are canceling the remaining part of their 2024 football season. In a letter sent to families Thursday evening, Principal and Athletic Director Lindsay Gorham-Pflug says the District made the “difficult decision” to cancel the Team’s last three games due to the health, safety and well-being of students”. It goes on to say “recent circumstances, including numerous injuries, have made it clear that continuing the season would pose unnecessary risk to our athletes”. Gorham-Pflug says being a smaller school and the trend of less kids playing sports isn’t helping the cause. Cassopolis finishes the season with a 1-5 record.
