(ANGOLA) - Brooks Miller, who led Trine University to its first NCAA Division III men's basketball championship, is stepping down as head coach of the Thunder. Miller has been named associate head coach at NCAA Division I Central Michigan University. He will join the staff of Andy Bronkema, who was announced as the Chippewas' head coach on April 14. Miller finishes his career at Trine University with an overall record of 247-121, including 142-73 in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play. Besides winning the 2024 NCAA Division III national championship, Miller led the Thunder to MIAA championships in 2019, 2021 and 2024. He was named 2021 NCAA Division III Coach of the Year by both hoopdirt.com/Just Play Sports Solutions and Basketball Times Magazine. In March 2024, he was again named NCAA Division III National Coach of the Year, receiving those accolades from D3Hoops.com and the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
