(STURGIS) – The Sturgis Board of Education received an update on a proposed community steering committee.
During the Board’s recent regular meeting, Sturgis Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert shared what the response has been from the community so far. LINKC.
The Committee will be helping Sturgis Schools as they look and plan ahead on any updates and upgrades around the District.
Those who responded are community members, Sturgis Public Schools alumni, retirees, business owners and even some students.
Ebert says it’s been nice to read the responses the community members have given as to why they want to be on the committee. LINKD.
The Committee’s primary duties will include: To actively participate in on site community input meetings; Meeting with the architect and construction manager throughout the process; Making recommendations to the Board of Education.
Ebert says they will review the applicants and expects to have a Steering Committee made up of 10 to 12 members.
