(CASSOPOLIS) – Two people are facing charges for having stolen firearms.
The Cass County Drug Enforcement Team, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the Cassopolis Police Department conducted a traffic stop Monday at 3 PM on a vehicle in a parking lot on School Street in Cassopolis. Detectives had information that the individuals in the vehicle were in possession of stolen firearms.
18 year old Jacob Morrison and a 17 year old male, were both detained and questioned. Several stolen firearms and ammunition taken during a January break in at Hayden’s Hardware Store in Cassopolis were recovered at the scene.
Morrison was later arrested and charged with possession of stolen firearms. The 17 year old was charged with breaking and entering along with possession of stolen firearms, and was released to his parent.
