(BRONSON )— The Bronson Police Department, facing a significant staffing shortage after three officers resigned in the past five months, is holding a recruitment event on Wednesday to fill open positions. The department is seeking to hire three full-time police officers and several part-time officers. The resignations have left Chief Steve Johnson and Assistant Chief Frank Barker as the only two officers remaining on the force. Johnson noted that the department will accept applications from those who are already certified, as well as individuals interested in attending the next police academy. The event will be held Wednesday, Oct. 8th from 3pm to 7pm at 120 West Chicago Street in Bronson.
