(INDIANAPOLIS) – Unemployment rates went up slightly around Northeast Indiana from January to February.
According to the Indiana Department Of Workforce Development, LaGrange County saw a two-tenths of a percent increase, going from 3.3% to 3.5%.
The largest increase in the area was in Steuben County, which went up four-tenths of a percent from 3.1 to 3.5%.
Elkhart County saw a jump in their unemployment from 4.1 to 4.4%, which is an increase of three-tenths of a percent. Noble County grew two-tenths of a percent from 4 to 4.2% and DeKalb grew from 3.4% to 3.6%, which is an increase of two-tenths of a percent.
Unemployment rates also went up in two Northeast Indiana cities. Elkhart grew from 5.2% to 5.6%, which is an increase of four-tenths of a percent. Goshen jumped up two-tenths of a percent from 4 to 4.2%.
Statewide, the unemployment rate remained the same from January to February at 3.5%. Nationwide, the unemployment rate was at 3.9%, up from 3.7% in January.
